Gratitude Journal

When it comes down to it, despite my problems, I have life pretty good. So in honor of Thanksgiving, I'm going to list some of my blessings and take some time to reflect and appreciate what has been given to me. Everyone has problems, and even though mine may be a big deal to me, it's important to recognize that even though life seems dark at times, we really do have it pretty good. So here goes.

Things I'm thankful/grateful for/blessed with:

  1. A wonderful family that supports me in all my endeavors; the good the bad and the ugly.
  2. A father with a steady well paying job who can provide me with all treatment I need.
  3. A best friend since third grade who will listen to me rant, moon refrigerators with me, and laugh and be silly.
  4. A boyfriend who loves me despite my issues.
  5. A sister who will always give it to me straight and love me forever.
  6. The opportunity to go to a great college on a full ride.
  7. A fairly intelligent brain that can read and write and do math and problem solve.
  8. A wonderful past education at one of the best districts in an accelerated program.
  9. Great friends who can always make me smile.
  10. A kind heart and desire to help others. (Everyone says I'm the sweetest person they've ever met.)
  11. The ability to walk, run, dance, sing, and smile.
  12. A wonderful childhood where I was raised by an amazing family.
  13. A roof on my head, clothes on my back, and song in my heart.
  14. A smile that everyone says shines and eyes that are alien bright blue.
  15. My freedom to go where I want, love who I choose, and worship when and what I feel.
  16. A "neon" personality (in the words of my friend Ryan)
  17. Experiences that are shaping me into a deeper person with understanding and dimension who will be better equipped to help others.
  18. A car that is consistently reliable and has radio, heating, and AC.
  19. The ability to calm others down, get people to open up, and listen when someone needs to talk.
  20. People who love me.
