My mom was talking to a friend today and pulled me over to the conversation. "Cori" she said, "repeat after me. 'I have endometriosis.'"
I looked at the lady and said "I have endometriosis."
She proceeded to tell me about how her daughter was being tested for endo after having her second period. Her daughter is 11.
It's getting younger and younger, and it just breaks my heart. Thankfully, she doesn't have a bunch of pain, just really heavy periods, but still. 11!
On a side note, a bunch of my meds were changed after I made a trip to a new psychiatrist. He put me on Cymbalta, put me on Ambien every night for sleep and upped my panic meds to the Xanax offbrand. He also offered a daily anxiety medication, but I turned that down.
Funny story about the Ambien. I didn't realize how "fast acting" the fast acting sleeping pills would be. Nor how strong. So I took them one night and then settled down for the night at my computer to talk to Josh. I started making typos, and pretty soon was talking in a bunch of garbled mumbo jumbo that made absolutely no sense, even referring to the "man in the room" who was "unsatisfied with my performance" (presumably Ed).
Josh finally called Casey to ask if I was ok (he was aware that I had OD'ed the day before) and Casey called my parents. In the end, of course, I was fine and was just high on sleeping pills (Josh persuaded me to take a nap) but there were still some pretty interesting interactions.
Mental note: don't take the Ambien before I'm ready to go to sleep.
