Put A Band-Aid On It

Happy New Year everybody. i don't normally believe in New Years resolutions, but I guess I have kinda an obligation here to make one. So ya'll know whats coming. I resolve to kick ed's ass and not continue to make others unhappy because of my decisions blablabla.

Ok, obligation fulfilled. Now onto other stuff.

Let me start out by saying that I am a complete and total gluten-free hater. Seriously! Gluten is simply a protein and unless you have a specific intollerance, allergy, or it exacerbates a condition you have (migraines, ADHD, autism, etc...) there is no reason for you to go gluten-free. It will NOT help you lose weight and is simply a FAD.

That being said, I am considering going gluten-free.

Not just gluten-free, vegan and dairy free as well.

Now you say "Cori! You hypocrite! Why on earth! You hate gluten-free skinny white yoga pants and boots girls!"

I could say that I've heard a lot about clean eating and gluten-free and hormone-free eating (there are TONS of hormones in milk and meat) and how it can help with Endo, and this is partially true. But I realized this morning that I've been lying to myself, or at least not telling myself the whole truth.

It's also because my boyfriend's ex is gluten-free dairy-free and it pisses me off because she's recently lost some weight (for other reasons) and I have an unhealthy obsession with being skinnier than her.

Whoo! Lets hear it for uncensored honesty! I posted this picture on Facebook the other day.

Time to put a band-aid on it and be real with myself.

Ok, so moving forward. It looks to me like I am proposing these dietary restrictions half because I legitimately want to do as much as I can to minimize the Endo, and half because I am simply looking for an excuse to restrict.

So where do I go from here? I don't know (hey, I can't always have all the answers. Give me a break!) Maybe I'll talk to my therapist about it.
