So some good things have been happening to. I've gotten back full fledged into working out (I'm pretty sure my knee is healed enough). Pretty sore after taking 3 weeks off, but it feels so good! Time to whip this body back into shape.
Momentary shout out to a fellow blogger named Kate who has been working through her own recovery from an eating disorder and has remained strong for many years. She has been an inspiration to me as I started reading her blog and watching her videos before my own decision to attempt to recover and I have appreciated feeling like someone understands me through all this and is going through the same thing. Well, she just found out she was preggers!!! Prayers for the safety of the baby and peace of mind for the mother would be appreciated (from those of you who pray) and positive thoughts sent her way (from those of you who don't). Long road ahead, but you totally got this Kate! Congratulations from all of us =)
I had my Endo Awareness Presentation in Positive Psychology today and I think it went really well. My teacher described it as "brilliant" and I think I really hit on a positive cord with a lot of people and got some good awareness out there. I titled it "The Faces of Endo" and am going to see if I can upload it to Google Drive: Faces of Endo so you guys can see. Basically the whole thing is faces and words of real people who struggle with this disease.
I have high hopes for a plan this summer volunteering as a counselor at Advice and Aid Pregnancy Center. I'll tell you guys a little more about that if it pans out. Basically I would be qualified to volunteer to counsel pregnant teens on options aside from abortion and help them through that process. It's not a mental health counseling center, but that is a small part of it. It's a wonderful opportunity for some great experience, some good resume material (and it would certainly look good on a grad school application) and a chance to actually do something worthwhile with my summer and get some self actualization going. I do the best when I feel like I am being useful and helping people, so this is an awesome opportunity to do that.
Some nice things in the past week and some good time with my man making panoramas. Hopefully some fun will be had this weekend as my family goes to see War Horse on Broadway and hosts a friend's wedding shower.
So yeah, hopefully I'll get back into the daily nice in depth posts soon. It's just so busy right now with recovery struggles and enrollment coming up and finals and tests and the whole "HOLY SHIT AM I GOING TO BE KICKED OUT OF THE HONORS COLLEGE AND LOSE MY SCHOLARSHIP AND BE DENIED ENTRANCE INTO GRAD SCHOOL AND BECOME A HOMELESS PERSON!!!". I enroll in classes Sunday, so I'll let you all know how that goes.
Hugs and smiles!
