New Doc (And New Recipe!)

Went to Joplin yesterday to see the new doc. She seems really sweet. She has struggled with ED's in the past, so she understands what I'm feeling. That was something that I always thought was missing from my last doc. It's a bit of a hike to get to Joplin, but I think the drive to and from will be good because it will allow time for preparation and personal reflection while I'm in the car. She says she works in a sort of cognitive behavioral therapy, so that will be a little different from the Acceptance Commitment Therapy I'm used to.

I bought protein powder, so hopefully I can get back to working on the supplementing that my dietician set me on (daily ice cream, chocolate, protein shakes, etc...) It's hard to get so many calories without getting full, so they give me stuff that's high in calorie, but doesn't fill you up. I know a lot of you are like "why are you complaining about having daily ice cream for homework?!" but it really is terrifying and very difficult.

I went for a run with my boyfriend yesterday and we stopped halfway through because he caught onto the fact that I hadn't eaten much that day. Then he took me to Wendy's and ordered me a Frosty. I kinda feel like he was overstepping his bounds a little, but at the same time it was more of a "we're doing this, ok?" and I could've said "no" at any time. I didn't though and I did it without protest because I wanted to make him happy. I want him to think I'm doing well.

I'm afraid to weigh myself at the rec. I've had too much to eat the past few days and my stomach is sticking out and I don't want to know how much I weigh.

But yesterday was hump day! And tomorrow's Friday! Almost through this week! I guess I'm just taking it one week at a time.

  1. I know this post is from back in Aug (and I have not read the rest of your blog yet so I have no idea if protein shakes are applicable anymore) but I wanted to ask what your protein powder was! I use Isoflex and it's SO BOMB!!!! Yum! :D Chocolate mint is my fave! xo

  2. I use Pure Protein. I don't use it as much anymore though. I mean, sometimes, but I've been trying to move away from it because, I don't know. It's so caloric. but I guess that's the point... lol
