Trying to Explain Binges

I don't care whether you're a bulimic, EDNOSer, or anorexic. We all binge sometimes. And a binge is the worst feeling in the world.

A binge is not what you think it is. A binge can be 300 calories. It can be 3000. It can be anything from fast food burgers to ice cream to saltines with mustard on them to straight hot chocolate powder to frozen taco rolls to peanut butter m&ms to plain coconut to an apple to beef jerky with ranch dressing to a jar of jalapenos to whatever else you may eat, good bad or weird (and believe me, I've eaten some WEIRD stuff!)

What makes it a binge is how you feel afterwards. What makes it a binge is the attitude you had before and while you ate the food. What makes it a binge is the ED. The ED told you it was a binge.

Or maybe just the fact that you just ate plain uncooked oatmeal from out of the carton to punish yourself. Or just because you had the impulse. Then had to throw it up afterwards or go to the gym for 4 hours to work it off and then starve yourself all the next day because you were too afraid to eat.

Welcome to the hell of an eating disorder.
